Always encourage reading, even if she rolls her eyes and brushes you off. Don't be angry, or hostile, or resentful if she does those things. That's her own lesson to learn, and trust me she will regret it. Do teach her however, that going to the movies made after books and then claiming to have read the book, is a thing she will regret.
