Teach her how to make mashed potatoes. They are cheap and easy and all you need is butter, milk, potatoes, and water. When she complains about not having any food when she's in college, remind her about mashed potatoes. She will probably grunt or moan or sigh, but chances are, that night she will be eating mashed potatoes.
